Santa Maria Novella Idralia Skincare
Here at Snif perfumery in Geelong we have had the privilege of stocking the world’s oldest pharmaceutical brand Santa Maria Novella since 2019. The brand was first created in 1221 in Florence by Dominican Friars who used their convents garden to create the medicinal formulas from the herbs and plants.
Fast forward to 1533 where the brand contracted perfumer Renato Bianco to create a fragrance as a tribute to Catherine Medici the wife of King Henry the second of France. The Citrus based fragrance “Acqua Della Regina” also known as the Queens water was the first alcohol-based fragrance.
In 1612, it was formally recognized with the name Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica by the Grand Duke of Tuscany, who granted the Officina the title of Foundry of His Royal Highness. The business opened its doors to the public which remains the oldest pharmacy to this day.
To celebrate the brands history Santa Maria Novella have launched the 1221 collection which includes the new and improved formulations of the Idralia Skin care range. Below is an outline of the products with information on ingredients and how to use.

EXFOLIATING CREAM $97
A daily mild exfoliating cleansing cream that removes excess sebum, eliminates surface impurities and oils to make the skin feel clean, fresh and smooth.
HOW TO USE:
Apply to damp skin, avoiding contact with the eye area. Gently massage with circular movements, and rinse with warm water.
EYE CONTOUR $101
Moisturises and quenches the eye contour area by restoring its natural balance lessening the appearance of wrinkles thanks to the soft-focus effect.
HOW TO USE:
Apply a small amount (the size of a grain of rice) by tapping with the fingertips on the eye contour area, morning & night.
SERUM $97
Contains 3 different types of hyaluronic acid acting 3 times over: in low, medium and high molecular weights. Hyaluronic acid provides benefits that impact all levels of the skin.
HOW TO USE:
Massage 5 drops on clean skin, before applying your moisturiser. This formula requires that it is PRESSED ONTO the skin, to ensure absorption of the 3-tiered Hyaluronic acid. Please do not rub in.
CREAM $142
Moisturising cream consolidates the hydrolipidic balance of skin tissues strengthening and reinforcing optimal hydration levels.
HOW TO USE:
Massage a small amount with circular movements for 10 seconds.
MASK $128
A powerful boost of hydration that appears to immediately plump and smooth the skin
HOW TO USE:
AS A HYDRATING MASK Apply a thin layer on face and neck. Leave on for 10 minutes, and rinse gently with warm water.
AS AN INTENSIVE TREATMENT Apply a thin layer on the skin, allowing to absorb, then leave on overnight for an intensive revitalizing treatment.
